I'm a small, independent yarn retailer obsessed with all things woolly. From my delightful shop in the beautiful village of Felton, Northumberland, I source and sell some of the loveliest yarns from the British Isles and beyond.
Keen to help knitters of all abilities discover the richness of our woolly heritage and the huge variety and potential of this amazing natural resource, I passionately believe in supporting our farmers, yarn producers, dyers and spinners, to help keep this most traditional of industries alive and well.
With expert advice on offer, free on-street parking in the village also renowned for our fabulous cafe, The Running Fox and the chance to join our weekly Knit & Natter session there are any number of reasons to come to Fine Fettle Fibres! And while you are here, you can visit the other artists at work at Gallery 45.
What we love about Cambrian Wool -
As a Welsh ex-pat, I was determined to bring Cambrian Mountains Wool to Northumberland ever since I first saw it at the Hay Festival. And it has never disappointed; all that squishy, bouncy softness has been a hit with my customers too. It is such a good all round yarn for texture, colour work and simple stocking stitch that it works for a wide variety of projects.
As well as Cambrian Wool we also stock -
Alongside my woolly offerings, I sell the latest patterns and knitting publications, including Laine, Making Stories, Pompom, Kate Davies and Marie Wallin. I have a wide range of needles and notions from Addi, KnitPro, Emma Ball and Hide & Hammer.
My British brands include West Yorkshire Spinners, Jamieson & Smith, Jamieson's of Shetland, Garthenor Organic, Natural Born Dyers and The Fibre Company. I also have Fair Trade yarn from Manos del Uruguay and other ethical and organic brands including Malabrigo and BC Garn.
