Welcome to Cambrian Mountains Wool CIC – raising the profile of Welsh wool!

We’ll be selling yarns for knit, crochet and weave, and tops for feltmakers and handspinners; we’ll  be encouraging textile skills at all levels, getting involved in community events and projects…. we’re looking forward to sharing our journey with you. Read more about us on the website.

Our wool has been carefully sourced from the Cambrian Mountains region, and scoured and spun and dyed in the UK; it’s been labelled and counted…we’re ready to launch!

Our online shop will be open in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, have a little browse and email us if you want to buy NOW! We’ll sort you out. Over the next few weeks we’ll be developing and publishing our very own designs for you to make. We’ll be bringing you more information, and telling the stories behind our inspiration.

Gwlan Cambrian Wool is the name for our range of hand-knit yarns. Our main collection is produced using the finest Welsh Mule (that’s Blue Face Leicester x Welsh Mountain or Beulah or Welsh Hill Speckled). The wool is soft and lustrous, and is worsted spun to retain these qualities. You really need to try it out!

We’ll also be offering limited collections of other yarns sourced from the region. Currently we have local Llanwenog blended with Black Welsh Mountain. Perfect for cushions and bags.

Sign up to our newsletter to keep in touch, or come and see us at one of our events – find details on the website.

If you’re a designer/maker or a small manufacturer wishing to use genuine Welsh grown wool on a more commercial level, do get in touch. We’d be delighted to help where we can.
